Frequently asked questions

Good questions.
Clear answers.

More about the software we build, what makes a useful starting conversation and how this website works.

01

Our work

What kind of software does House Medical build?

We build web applications, automation and connected services around practical tasks. The focus is on giving people a clearer way to work with information, complete an administrative process or interact with a service.

Our capabilities page explains the kinds of problems each approach can help with.

Which areas do you focus on?

Business, finance and public services are important contexts for our work. They often involve complicated rules or information that needs to be turned into a clear journey.

The common thread is a practical problem with an outcome that software can make easier to reach.

Does every product need AI?

No. A clear interface, a straightforward calculation or a reliable connection between systems may solve the task well. AI is useful where its ability to interpret or organise information adds value.

Its suitability depends on the information involved, the consequences of an error and the review or safeguards the task needs.

Can software work with tools already in use?

It can, where those tools provide suitable ways to exchange information. The important questions include what access is available, which system owns the information and how failures or changes will be handled.

Describe the tools and the task you want to connect when you get in touch. See connected services for more detail.

Starting a conversation

Can I get in touch with an early-stage idea?

Yes. You do not need a finished specification. Tell us about the problem, who it affects and what a useful result would look like. If you are unsure about the right approach, explain the task before choosing a technology.

Our contact page gives a short guide to a useful first message.

What determines the scope and time involved?

The complexity of the task, the information it uses, its connections to other services and the level of assurance it needs all matter. A small interface can still involve complicated rules underneath it.

Important deadlines and constraints are useful to discuss early. The website does not promise a standard delivery time or price for every kind of product.

What information should I send at first?

A plain-language description is usually a useful start. Include the current process, the main difficulty and the people involved. You can mention an existing tool or a deadline without sending confidential records.

Please avoid passwords, payment details or unnecessary personal information. If more detailed material is needed, the appropriate way to share it can be discussed.

How do you think about quality?

We consider whether people can complete the task, understand the result and recover from problems. Correct behaviour, accessibility, appropriate handling of information and maintainability all contribute to that.

Read our approach to building and the quality management statement for more detail.

Using this website

Can I turn off the animations?

Yes. Use the motion control at the bottom of the page. The site remembers that preference in your browser on the current device. It also respects your device’s reduced-motion setting.

The opening slider still lets you change the signal field manually with motion turned off.

Can I navigate the site with a keyboard?

The links, menu buttons, slider and expandable answers use native controls. Tab moves between controls, Enter activates links and buttons, and the arrow keys adjust the slider. Escape closes the full-screen menu.

Ctrl+K or Command+K opens the menu when you are not using an editable control. If you encounter a barrier, please send website feedback.

Does the website track visitors?

The website code does not include advertising trackers or third-party analytics scripts. Hosting requests can generate technical information for the hosting provider, and the motion preference is stored locally in your browser.

The privacy notice explains the website features, correspondence and your information rights in more detail.

Where can I find the company policies?

The policy library contains all six policies: diversity and inclusion, environment and sustainability, health and safety, quality management, modern slavery and human rights, and data protection and privacy.

Each policy has its own page, section links and a print option. Company information is available separately.
